“Weltklasse” is a workshop organized by the Fachklasse Grafik Lucerne within the framework of the Weltformat Graphic Design Festival. Our class was given the task to design a key visual using moving typography, as well as Gif-animations and posters for the workshop. The theme of the 2021 festival was “Designing Identities”. Together with Eva Affentranger I came up with the term “Typotity”. Each letter of the word “Weltklasse” has its own sequence in the short film which shows their identity. For this, the Stopmotion-technique was chosen which concluded with a stack of 361 papers. For the sound we used experimental “music”. Therefore, we recorded noises of paper rustling to glass clinking over fire crackling and various piano tones from which we were able to put together some unique and harmonious melodies.
«Weltklasse» ist ein Workshop, welcher durch die Fachklasse Grafik Luzern im Rahmen des Weltformat Graphic Design Festivals, organisiert wird. Unser Jahrgang bekam die Aufgabe ein Key Visual mittels bewegter Typografie, Gif-Animationen und Plakate für diesen Workshop zu gestalten. Das Festivalthema 2021 lautete «Designing Identities». Zusammen mit Eva Affentranger bin ich auf den Begriff «Typodität» gekommen. Jeder Buchstabe des Wortes «Weltklasse» hat im Kurzfilm eine eigene Sequenz bekommen, welche seine Identität zeigt. Dafür haben wir die Stopmotion-Technik gewählt und einen Stapel von 361 Blättern erarbeitet. Für den Ton haben wir experimentelle «Sounds» eingesetzt und dafür verschiedenste Geräusche wie das Rascheln von Papier, das Klirren von Gläsern, das Knistern von Feuer und verschiedene Klaviertöne aufgenommen.
