This newspaper occurred parallel to the Back to “Self-Respect” poster. As a warm-up for these two projects we got the task of capturing the term “respect” with photography. I was interested in the impact that “disrespect” has on us. That is why I dedicated myself to analogue photography. I scratched, destroyed and devastated the photopaper before lighting it and thus treated it in a disrespectful manner and developed dynamic photography’s from harmless everyday pictures. Chaos, Turmoil, Negativity. Our everyday life becomes a wrecked world. In addition to making this world even more restless I collaged the already nervous pictures once again. As a contrast to this forbidden aesthetic devastation I included the lyrics by Sam Cook “A Change Is Gonna Come” which blends in with the chaos but tries to raise hope again.
Diese Zeitung wurde parallel zum «Back to Self Respect»-Plakat gestaltet. Als Warm-up für diese zwei Projekte hatten wir die Aufgabe, etwas zum Begriff «Respekt» fotografisch festzuhalten. Ich habe mich für die Auswirkungen von «Respektlosigkeit» interessiert. Dafür habe ich mich der Analogfotografie gewidmet. Ich habe das Fotopapier vor dem Beleuchten zerkratzt, zerstört und verwüstet, bin damit respektlos umgegangen und habe aus harmlosen Alltagsbildern dynamische Bilder entwickelt. Chaos, Unruhe, Negativität. Der normale Alltag wird zu einer zerstörten Welt. Um diese Welt noch unruhiger darzustellen, habe ich die schon verwirrenden Bilder nochmals collagiert. Als Kontrast zu dieser verboten ästhetischen Verwüstung habe ich den Songtext von Sam Cook «A Change Is Gonna Come» miteingebunden, welcher sich mit dem Chaos vermischt aber versucht, die Hoffnung wieder aufzubringen.
